Our Experience at Ocala Florida Pet Palooza

We had an amazing time at the Ocala Florida Pet Palooza! This event allowed us to connect with so many new people from all around Marion and Alachua County. We handed out hundreds of business cards and shared our passion for pet health and wellness.

We had the pleasure of talking with several rescue organizations, including the Marion County Humane Society, VOCAL (Voices of Change Animal Leagues), Quality of Life (Rehab & Rehabilitation), and Sheltering Hands, a cat-exclusive rescue. These organizations are doing incredible work, and we're excited to collaborate with them in the future.

We also met with some of our existing partners, such as ProCyon, a pet training company with certified trainers and their own training facility. They conduct training sessions at Mr. Mocha's Pet Supplies every Wednesday and Saturday. Feel free to stop by and watch some of these sessions or contact us for more details.

Looking ahead, we're planning to host adoption events with these organizations to help pets in Marion County find their forever homes and to introduce new pet owners to excellent pet nutrition advice. The Fourth of July is a festive time for us, but it can be extremely stressful for pets due to the loud noises from fireworks. It's crucial to prepare in advance to keep your pets calm and comfortable. Here are some strategies and products we recommend:

Keeping Your Pets Cool and Healthy in July

With July's high temperatures, it's vital to take extra precautions to keep your pets safe from the heat. Here are some tips to ensure your pets stay cool and healthy:

• Check Pavement and Car Temperatures: Pavement can get extremely hot, burning your pet's paws. Always check the temperature of the ground before walks. Never leave your pet in a parked car, as temperatures can rise to dangerous levels quickly.
• Special Care for Snub-Nose Dogs: Breeds such as French Bulldogs, American Bulldogs, and Pekingese have shorter noses, making them more susceptible to overheating and dehydration. Limit their outdoor time to a maximum of 20 minutes during hot days and provide frequent water and cooling breaks.
• Hydration and Cooling Treats: Ensure your pets stay hydrated by providing plenty of fresh water. Consider giving them cooling treats like Puppy Scoops, a non-dairy ice cream safe for pets, which we offer at our store.
